Today’s work on JR’s left eye. And what it took to get this fine detail.....

Yesterday I shared a post explaining how AI was used to sharpen Diane’s blurry photo so I could see crisp detail. That’s the main reference pic you see on my monitor. In a row above it are several of Diane’s other photos showing JR’s eyes. Those are real-life photos of JR. So as I’m working from the AI-enhanced photo, I compare it to real photos to make sure I have JR’s eye color accurate, and double-check that the shape of his eye-rims and other details are accurate in the AI pic.

As excellent as Andrew’s AI version is, I’m not going to trust an AI interpretation of a living dog. But I have to say, the AI details, as I’m working very closely from them and comparing to real photos, are spot on.

See my previous post about what it took to get that.

This is how the whole artwork looks now.
