The Story Behind the Art
The original painting was one of five paintings displayed at the Doberman Pinscher Club of America National in Chandler, Arizona in 1991, the first time Roeckl's Doberman art had ever been seen by Doberman fanciers. Like all of his work at that time, this painting was inspired by the beauty and athleticism of Roeckl's own beloved Doberman, Jake.
Reproductions of "Dash Away" were sold on notecards and apparel through the 1990s. It was not offered as a fine art print until 2023 when fans of Roeckl's work on social media began expressing an interest in seeing his earlier Doberman art.
"Dash Away" is printed in my digital studio with archival inks on archival, heavyweight, matte paper. The quality of each print is personally inspected by me to ensure that the colors are as true to the original as possible.
